Honda’s European GX160 technical sheet gives more than one power value. It lists 3.6 kW net power at 3,600 rpm, and continuous rated power of 2.5 kW at 3,000 rpm or 2.9 kW at 3,600 rpm. Those entries should not collapse into one unqualified horsepower field.
| Rating | Value | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| Net power | 3.6 kW | 3,600 rpm |
| Continuous rated power | 2.5 kW | 3,000 rpm |
| Continuous rated power | 2.9 kW | 3,600 rpm |
The sheet’s note identifies SAE J1349 for the reported net rating and explains that output in a complete machine can differ with the application and other conditions. The source footer identifies a January 2020 sheet; reading it in 2026 does not make it a newly issued specification.
Compare the complete machine separately
If a pump, compactor or other machine is advertised with a GX160, retain the engine specification and request the finished machine’s applicable performance sheet. Engine output is not the same measurement as pump flow, compaction performance or electrical output.
A supplier response should identify the engine version and rating basis used in the offer, the complete machine model and the regional documentation. Do not use this European sheet to assert that every Southeast Asian GX160-branded machine has the same configuration.
No engine was bench-tested. This guide does not prescribe a working speed, installation, adjustment or maintenance procedure. It helps a buyer compare the same kind of rating before treating a larger number as evidence of a better machine.
Manufacturer sources read 19 October 2026. This is a document-based purchasing guide, not a hands-on test, installation instruction or confirmation of current stock. Exact local application and offer terms need the supplier’s written confirmation.
