FOTON Tornado M24C Refvan: what the published temperature figure does not specify

Direct answer: FOTON Philippines describes the Tornado M24C Refvan’s cooling feature as a “low setting temperature up to -20°.” The product page does not state a temperature unit or the test and operating conditions behind that figure. Do not rewrite it as a verified -20°C cargo-space performance claim.

The FOTON Philippines model page was opened and checked on 19 October 2026. This article records the wording and its limits; it is not a refrigeration test, food-safety guide or cold-chain compliance assessment.

What the Philippines product page publishes

The page identifies the product as Tornado M24C Refvan. Its specification panel lists a Cummins ISF 3.8 four-cylinder engine, 3,800 cc displacement, Euro IV compliance and a 14-foot body length. Under “Special Feature,” it says the vehicle transports frozen goods with low setting temperature up to -20°. The page does not give the degree scale beside the number.

That missing unit is consequential. The wording is not enough to establish a measured temperature, temperature uniformity, pull-down time, performance in hot ambient conditions, continuous operation, door-opening recovery or temperature at the cargo product. We did not test this vehicle or refrigeration unit.

Turn the product claim into a written specification request

Before comparing a cold-chain offer, ask the seller to state the exact unit and reference point for the temperature figure; the refrigeration-unit model; the stated operating and ambient conditions; whether the value refers to a setpoint or a measured compartment result; and which cargo-box configuration the offer covers. Request the manufacturer’s current product sheet and a written description of what is included.

These are open questions for the supplier, not capabilities that this article attributes to the M24C. Keep an unanswered item marked “Needs editor verification” instead of supplying a familiar Celsius value. Do not infer that the page’s “up to -20°” claim means all cargo remains at that temperature in service.

Keep the application boundary clear

The page does not certify the vehicle for a particular food, medicine or regulated shipment, and it does not establish handling or storage compliance. Those questions require the relevant product rules, cargo specification and documented cold-chain evidence from responsible parties. The public page also does not establish today’s inventory, price, warranty terms or seller identity.

A useful procurement record therefore separates the vehicle name, refrigeration-system identity, temperature wording, supporting test document and commercial offer. The temperature unit and conditions remain unverified; this article does not supply the missing measurement or claim operational performance.
