A forklift battery’s ampere-hour figure does not establish that a supplied charger is compatible. Compare the identified battery and charger as a documented combination, including battery technology, voltage, capacity rating basis and the manufacturer’s approved charging profile.
A practical purchase file has three identities: the lift truck, the battery and the charger. A seller who gives only the battery capacity has answered one specification question, not the full compatibility question. This guide reviews documents; it does not instruct buyers to connect, configure or test electrical equipment.
Read the actual matching document
The four-page EnerSys EMEA NexSys+ technical document, displayed as English 0525, separates charger configurations and battery-technology columns in its matching tables. It states charge conditions and uses C5 capacity ranges. Its filename contains 0124, so retain the downloaded document rather than treating the filename as proof of revision.
The US Express Charger page provides a useful counterexample: adaptive features do not erase the stated product-family restriction. The page says those chargers are designed exclusively for Express batteries. Neither source approves an unidentified unit in an ASEAN quotation. Both were checked on October 5, 2026.
Make the quotation answer six questions
| Field | Evidence to request | Avoid this substitution |
|---|---|---|
| Battery identity | Manufacturer, model and readable label | Only a photograph of the truck |
| Technology | Exact battery technology in the matching document | A generic lead-acid or lithium description |
| Voltage | Battery and charger’s documented voltage compatibility | Matching Ah figures |
| Capacity basis | Ah figure, rating basis and relevant range | An unexplained capacity number |
| Charger identity | Model, configuration and applicable technical sheet | Automatic or smart branding alone |
| Approval conditions | Written match and relevant charge assumptions | A recharge-time promise without conditions |
A traceable document method
Assign each quotation a reference. Copy the battery label, charger label and manufacturer matching sheet into that reference’s folder. In the comparison sheet, cite the page, row and technology column used by the seller to support the match. Ask for clarification if the offered model cannot be located.
Write advertised recharge time in a separate field. Then copy the document’s assumptions beside it, including the stated starting discharge condition and temperature where provided. A time taken from one battery column should not silently become a promise for another battery technology or operating pattern.
Have the supplier identify any configuration or profile needed and who will commission the system. Record the answer; do not infer settings or change them from a buying article. Site electrical supply and installation requirements need appropriate qualified review.
Two purchase questions
Does the same connector prove compatibility? No compatibility conclusion follows from this document method until the battery and charger identities are linked by applicable manufacturer evidence.
Does a larger Ah rating guarantee a longer shift? This guide makes no runtime promise. Condition, duty and the complete truck-battery arrangement require separate assessment.
Use the machinery buying hub to keep battery compatibility distinct from used-equipment condition. DFC Cari has not tested a battery, verified remaining capacity or inspected the equipment offered to you.
